E. Wade Fernihough B.A., LL.B. (1943 – 2015)
Our founder, Wade Fernihough, graduated from University of Windsor School of Law in 1973 and articled with the firm of Evans Husband. Wade went on to start a law firm with two other partners and practiced law in that firm for many years.
Wade was very successful in building that firm and creating a large general practice primarily in real estate, wills, and power of sale work.
In early 2000 Wade decided to go in a different direction and left the firm that he helped create in order to start “Wade Fernihough Law Firm”, where Wade practiced law as a sole practitioner until his passing in February 2015.
Wade enjoyed the practice of law immensely and he had a long and successful career as a well respected lawyer.
Upon his passing in 2015 Wade Fernihough willed the carriage of his beloved legal practice to Richard Skibinski.
Richard Skibinski B.A., LL.B.
Richard Skibinski received a B.A. from the University of Waterloo in 1973 and received his LLB from the University of Western Ontario in 1976. He articled with the firm of Yachetti Lanza Restivo and was called to the bar in April of 1978.
He practiced with the firm of Szpiech Ellis Skibinski Shipton from 1981 and built a thriving practice that focused on litigation, real estate, and corporate law. He is a past trustee of the Hamilton Law Association and was also on the board of the Family Law division. He has also served as director of various social organizations.
Richard still maintains a relationship as an associate of Szpiech Ellis Skibinski Shipton, but since 2015 he has taken carriage of Wade Fernihough Law Firm as a result of the sudden passing of Wade. The firm now carries on as Fernihough Skibinski Law Firm.
Richard has made the office at 987 Rymal Road East his primary location. He has now restricted his practice to commercial and residential real estate, will and estates, and corporate laws as the focus of his law practice.
Richard is proud to work with the same dedicated and knowledgeable team of staff as worked for Wade. He and his staff are looking forward to assisting you.
